3 ways to share your Google contacts with your team

How to share your Google contacts with your team

There are a few ways you can do so directly from your Google Workspace that we’ll unpack. But we recommend using a CRM. 

1. Sharing Google Contacts from Gmail

If you want to give another Google Workspace user access to your contacts, you can do so without granting them access to your email account. This is done by delegating them access.

To do so make sure your Directory administrator turns on contact sharing. Or, if you’re an admin, you can turn the global Directory on through the Google Admin Console.

Once you’ve done that, simply:

1. Go to Google Contacts (make sure you’re signed in on your work or school account)
2. From the top right, go to settings > delegate access
3. Click invite delegate
4. Enter the name or email address of the person you want to give permission to manage your contacts (you can enter up to 25 names, separated by commas)
5. Click send.

Note that:

• You can only delegate contacts to people in the same domain or org as you, 
• You and your delegate(s) must be signed in to your work or school accounts,
• You and your delegate(s) have to be on a computer. It won’t work on a phone or tablet device,
• You can’t view and edit delegated contacts with the Contacts apps from a mobile device.

2. Sharing Google contacts from your iOS device

This can only be done by syncing Google Contacts with your mobile device or computer. If you change a contact somewhere, once you sync your Google Contacts to a phone, tablet or computer, that contact will change everywhere.

To do this on your Mac, simply:

1. Open System Preferences
2. Click Internet Accounts > Click Google 
3. Enter your email address and password > Click next
4. Check Contacts > Click done.

To do this on a Windows computer:

1. Open settings
2. Click Accounts > Email & App Accounts > Add an Account > Google
3. Enter your email address and password
4. Review permissions > Click Allow > Click Done.

3. Using a CRM
